Short Description

I perform on the piano/my electric keyboard. I play pop songs/songs from musicals, from 1940’s-1960’s. I also play some classical pieces and hymns.

* I play a variety of pop songs and songs from films/musicals 1940’s-1960’s. * I can also play classical music and hymns, if requested. * I can play your piano, or provide my own electric keyboard. * I make use of the different instrument sounds and beats. * I have been performing in Care Homes since 2014. * I like to get to know the residents and what music they would love to listen to. * I encourage residents to have a play on my piano, if they would like to. * As well as being an experienced pianist, I am also a piano teacher, nursery nurse, and SEN teacher. This experience has helped me to build a rapport with residents who have dementia.

What to expect

I will play through a prepared set list of tried and tested popular songs and music. I use different instrument sounds and beats. Most of the songs in my lists have been requested by residents in the past. I like to engage with the audience and chat about the songs that I’m playing. For many of them my performances bring back memories of childhood piano lessons and some of them even like to have a go on the piano. For others they share stories of their wedding, raising families etc. I am happy to take requests; though I don’t always know the songs I am asked to play, I’m always keen to go away and do some research so that I can play the requested songs next time.

Q: What are your space and power requirements? A: Just enough space to set up my small keyboard and stand, save plug in an extension lead.
