Act Introduction
Multi award-winning wedding & party band, Firefly, has played at hundreds of weddings and other functions over the last 10 years. With both female and male lead vocals, Firefly’s playlist is both vast and very versatile. The band is based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and happily travels all over the UK. Recent winners of two prestigious wedding awards (International Wedding Awards 2020 & Event Entertainment Awards 2019), Firefly has a proven-track record of excelling at wedding & other events. The band also has a whole box full of thank you cards from happy clients and hundreds of thank you emails that they’d be delighted to share with you. Firefly’s musicians have performed on television shows such as 90210, ITV’s I’m a Celebrity… and also BBC national radio. Band members have also supported major international artists, working with performers as diverse as Katie Melua, Kerry Katona and The Weather Girls. Available as anything from a 5-piece to a 10-piece band, Firefly can tailor their package to suit any budget or event. With up to 3 hours of live music featuring dance floor filler hits, a disco between live sets and lots of other goodies thrown in inc performing your first dance song live and a fully qualified front of house sound engineer to ensure crystal clear sound, band and dancefloor disco lighting, the band guarantees a packed dance floor and will take care of entertaining your guests so you can relax in the knowledge that everyone is having the time of their lives! Firefly has a huge repertoire of songs from the 1960’s right up to current chart hits in many genres to suit all age ranges and tastes. Our female and male lead vocals makes us very versatile and able to perform songs in just about every genre there is inc pop, rock, rock n roll, funk, soul, Motown, electronic dance music and even jazz and swing if you’re into that!
What to expect
* 5 or 6-piece band (1 or 2 female lead vocalists, 2 male lead vocalists (drummer & guitarist), 4-part harmonies, optional saxophone, keyboards, lead guitar, bass guitar, drums (+ option to add trumpet) * Professional PA (sound) system and lights, managed by our fully qualified front of house sound engineer (for crystal clear sound and special effects)! * Two hours of dancefloor filler live music sets (pop, rock, funk, soul, & Motown from 1960's to current chart hits inc electronic dance music) plus optional third hour of live music – either dancefloor filler music or a jazz / swing / ballad set (for a small additional fee) * Disco (DJ-mixed playlists + lasers & gobo dancefloor lights) before and after the performance, and during the interval * The opportunity for Firefly to learn a first dance or special song of your choice, dedicated to you * High energy entertainment and audience interaction, so that you can relax in the knowledge that your guests are dancing and having a great time!
