Campanello - Ukulele & Cello is a quirky duo from Merseyside specialising in a range of instrumental music, from classical to modern arrangements!

Campanello are a Ukulele / Cello ensemble from Merseyside. Specialising in instrumental arrangements of both classical pieces and popular song, the duo provide a quirky alternative to string quartets, harpists and other classical inspired acts Always creating a buzz and a talking point at events, Campanello provide live entertainment at weddings, receptions, corporate functions, group workshops and even provide educational seminars for schools and universities. All the pieces are uniquely arranged by Craig & Bobby and requests can be taken for specific events for particular pieces and songs to be arranged in the Campanello style...ideal for a first dance or unique aisle music on your big day! We are perfectly placed as an act that can play many events where social distancing will need to be enforced during COVID times...we can easily social distance, don't usually need a PA (although we always bring a full rig incase amplification is required) and there is no singing...the harmony and melody are combined instrumentally. We also offer a Ukulele / Bass variation, Classical Guitar & Cello, Guitar and Bass etc... as an alternative instrumental act, playing in a range of styles from all over the world. We are both professional gigging musicians with well over 50 years live experience between us. I am the MD for a variety of function bands, Funk, Soul, Rock and more, as well as working with smaller ensembles and original acts too, whilst Bobby's (Cello/Bass) main job / gig is as the bass player for popular 80's/90's band, The Christians.

What to expect

Our performance will be a head turner and a real talking point to your audience / family members...whether we are performing a lengthy classical Bach suite, shredding a classic rock standard or playing any manner of instrumental dance music, we will draw the eye and ear alike. Campanello can blend in as any good instrumental, classical ensemble can do, or rip up the rule book and deliver an original performance experience for you and your guests. The name Campanello comes from a Ukulele technique, Campanella, meaning bell-like, or little bell...the act of playing the instrument in this way creates a beautiful harping effect...all of our pieces are arranged n this manner and they are all completely original arrangements. We can also tailor songs just for you but doing arrangements by special request...do you have a favourite song? If we don't already play it, we'll arrange a unique performance of it just for you, and we can record that arrangement too as a memento of the music on your big day.

Q: How long does setup take? A: If it's a fully acoustic gig (it usually is) we can be setup and sound-checked within 20 minutes. If we have to set up our PA rig for extra amplification, it would be 30-40 mins setup time MAX.
Q: What are your space and power requirements? A: We are a small duo and do not require a lot of space at all. We will need 2 chairs, space for the Cello's spike to be stretched out in front of Bobby and a small circumference area around the playing space for movement, but not much room is needed at all. Power-wise, unless playing acoustically, we ill just need one double power socket for our PA.
