Charlie will provide for you 2 hours of Jazz/Swing/Soul with either backing tracks in a Rat pack style big band act or with Charlie playing a lovely warm Jazz guitar & Vocals with a Rat pack style but also a Soul input or the most popular is a mix of both, the first half with backing tracks and the second half with guitar, for the second act Charlie also provides percussion for the audience to join in with. Charlie has a repertoire of 150 songs and is a fantastic choice for any occasion. Charle also has a Christmas Rat pack set, playing all your favourite Xmas big band songs. Charlie has been performing and recording for more than 25 years, has currently released three albums and recently had a No1 on the iTunes Jazz charts with his latest single ‘Most of all’. Charlie has previously worked with artists such as The Stereophonics, Broen, Morrissey & Marshall, Odette Adams, Frances Eva Lea, Dami Olukoya, Suibhan Harrison, Sid Gauld, Gary Meek and many more. Charlies singing career started whilst at stage school Jackie Palmers at the age of ten, singing solo to an audience of over 2000 at Wembley Conference Centre and has since performed lead vocals on many prestigious stages including The London Palladium, The Theatre Royal Drury Lane and the world famous Battersea Barge where he took to the stage with Ronnie Wood. Charlie comes form a very musical background, his father a guitarist for 40 years and his mother still a very accomplished pianist. Charlie started off with piano but quickly became more interested in Guitar & Vocals with a keen interest in Rock & Roll, Mod and Indie music which over the years led onto an ever increasing passion for Jazz, Jazz swing, Motown & Bossa nova. Charlies three releases indicate this starting with 2014 release ‘Heres to your life’ an original Indie/Jazz influenced four track EP. Following this in 2017 Charlie released ‘Nothing Short Of Love’ an original ten track studio album again with Jazz/Indie influences. Skip forward to 2019 and Charlie released his Third Album ‘Every Ounce Of Love’ an eight track Jazz/Swing/Bossa nova compilation of original work. Charlie has produced his own and appeared in many music videos for other artists over the years most notably playing the homeless man in the Stereophonics hit single ‘In a moment’, the Drag Queen on Broens hit single ‘Do you see the falling leaves’and Morrissey & Marshalls hit ‘Stand down’. Charlie also sang on and was the main character alongside Chris Kamara in the Official England song/video for the 2012 Euros, charity single ‘Sing 4 England’ reached No8 in the Independent charts and they performed the song live on the Sky TVs ‘Soccer Am’ on their first ever 3D episode. In the summer of 2019 Charlie produced and starred in his own music video for the title track of his 3rd album ‘Every Ounce Of Love’, Directed by renowned American rapper Von Dotta and filmed in Manhattan, New York. In 2019 Charlie joined Blues band Voodoo Groove as the lead vocalist (Latest info for Voodoo Groove and Charlies Solo gigs will appear on the news page) Charlies screen acting career started off at the age of 11 in CBS mini series ‘Master of the game’ Directed by Kevin Connor, starring Donald Pleasance & David Suchet, but Charlie is most notable for having played Captain Matthew Cox in BBC’s “Eastenders’as part of their 35th Anniversary episodes, Detective Constable Martin Long in CH4’s hit Drama ‘Deceit’, Doctor Robinson in CH4’s ‘Hollyoaks’ and Gavin Crane in ‘The Bill’, He recently Co Starred in Apple Tv’s ‘Suspicion’ Starring Uma Thurman,as well as appearances in BBC’s Primetime ‘Material Girl’ and ‘Upstairs downstairs’ and is soon to be seen in third season of Sky Atlantics 'Gangs of London'. Charlie has also appeared in over 40 films, main credits include ‘Blithe Spirit’ with Judi Dench Directed by Edward Hall, ‘The great Kandinsky’ with Richard Harris, Directed by Terry Winsor, Football based film ‘90 Minutes’, ‘Judwaa 2’, ‘The little giant’ (Where Charlie plays Jazz club owner Ronnie Scott) plus leading roles in multi award winning international films ‘I am not the devil’, ‘The undream’, ‘The Puppeteer’ and ‘Blackberry stains’ as well as prominent parts in Independent Films ‘Car Jack’, ‘Blacklands’ and ‘The Elephant in the corner’ and many more. Theatre wise Charlie made his professional debut at the age of eleven in the Theatre Royal Windsors production of ‘Joseph and the amazing technicolour dreamcoat’ and has continued his stage work across many theatres at home in London, across the UK and abroad, highlights include playing Alfred Doolittle in The English Theatre Frankfurts production of Pygmalion, Ray in James Mclures ‘Lone star’ at the Edinburgh festival, Kings head Theatre & The Latchmere 503, Paul in ‘Miller’ at the Pleasance Theatre, Howie in ‘Bus Rileys back in town’ at the Jermyn St Theatre, Malcolm in ‘Dawlish rd’ at the Soho Theatre, Abraham/Saul/Joshua/Norman in ‘A Christmouse tale’ UK tour, Henry in ‘Best men’ & Sam/Neville in ‘Its Christmas Carol’ both at The Hen & Chickens, John in ‘Second class parents’, Alfie in ‘Listen’ and Lou in ‘A moment of silence’ all at The Etcetera Theatre, Mac in ‘Proud’ at The Lost Theatre, Mel/Compere in Victoria Woods ‘Talent’ & Simion in ‘White wedding’ both at Upstairs at Gatehouse and Jimmy in ‘Daves turn’ at the Union Theatre.
