Climax Ceilidh Band is one of the most highly experienced and respected English ceilidh bands with excellent musicians and an experienced, friendly caller. We have had thousands of satisfied clients since starting in 2003, playing at weddings, parties and corporate functions, as well as major folk festivals in the UK and Europe such as Sidmouth, Towersey, Chippenham & Rudolstadt.
Ceilidhs are great fun and suitable for everyone, no matter what age or dancing ability. You don't need a partner so everyone can be included.
You get top musicians playing live, with a caller who will entice people to join in. Our caller adapts the dances to suit the dancers and the emphasis is on having a good time rather than doing it 'right'.
We play a wide variety of tunes for dancing, both original and taken from traditional sources. We also have a repertoire of tunes to play between dances.
You don't need any prior experience. The dances are pretty easy and a caller will show you exactly what to do and help you as the dance goes on.
Q: How long does setup take?A: We like to get into the venue around 1 hour before we have to start to set up the sound system. It takes about 30 minutes to pack up the equipment afterwards.
Q: What are your space and power requirements?A: We just need one power socket and a space of about 5 metres by 2 metres for the band.
Q: Do you take requests?A: We can usually include well know ceilidh dances you request.

Massive thanks to you all for a fantastic night last night at our Village Ceilidh at St Johns Memorial Hall, Woking. We have enjoyed a few Ceilidhs / Barn Dances at the hall and I can honestly say you were by far the best band and caller we have had, the band sounded fabulous, sound was great in the hall and Rachel did a fab job of calling and organizing the dances, everything pitched at just the right level. The whole evening went very smoothly and a great time was enjoyed by all thanks to The Climax Ceilidh Band. Will definitely be booking again for next year! Thanks so much guys xx

A big thank you to you all for a fabulous ceilidh at our work do last week. Superb caller and fantastic tunes = a whole hall of very happy people. Communication with the band was great and they even helped out our work band who were a bit stuck with equipment setup. Thank you all, we hope this is the first of many!
