Rock'n'roll outfit playing a great assortment of classic dance music from the 1950s plus more recent revival stuff from the 1980s, and a sprinkling of original songs.
Damo And The Dynamites is a rock'n'roll outfit playing a great assortment of classic dance music from the 1950s plus some revival stuff from the 1980s, and a sprinkling of original songs. We use the classic three-piece line-up: a box guitar and a double bass with drums driving them on.
Formed in 2018, we have played hundreds of gigs in pubs, clubs, at open-air festivals and at private functions - we are highly experienced at playing both indoors and out, at sensible volumes. As a 3-piece we take up a surprisingly small space and we can play in pretty much any room.
We usually perform with our stage amps being fed through a high quality PA system to maintain tight control of volume (at any level the venue wants); to ensure perfect balance and a good sound in the room, we bring our own sound engineer to every gig.
Live video and audio recordings on our pages are taken directly from our live performances and are not 'doctored' in any way. We are a period-correct 1950s act and we deliberately avoid exceedingly glossy video work. What you see in our live videos is exactly what happens at our live gigs, filmed on 4 or 5 separate mini cameras and mixed in a DAW. No studio work has been involved at any stage. We are keen to show potential clients what we really look and sound like while on stage in front of a real audience.
An excellent, high-energy, engaging 1950s rock 'n' roll and rockabilly trio whose sound and performance style is exciting and period-correct. You can't stop yourself from joining in the dancing, regardless of whether or not you are a jiver.

Q: How long does setup take?A: Usually 90 minutes Q: What are your space and power requirements?A: While the obvious answer is - the more space and number of sockets the better, we can set up in small corners and run off a single 13A socket if necessary. Q: Do you take requests?A: We are happy to organise our setlist to favour either rock 'n' roll or rockabilly, should the client or the audience have a clear preference for either. (In general we offer a mixture with preference given to the best known rock 'n' roll hits.)
Unless requests happen to be for songs already on our extended songlist, we take them only if they fulfil the following two criteria:
- they match the rest of the setlist in genre and style (we do not play Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, Ed Sheeran or similar...)
- we receive the request at least two weeks in advance so we can learn the song(s) to the same high standard as the rest of the set.
