Drop The Monkey are a professional 5 piece LIVE function band. Made up of seasoned professional musicians who have been playing together professionally under various guises for decades. Our versatile and varied set list means we have something for everyone and we are often booked based on our “non-standard” choice of familiar party songs.

What to expect

We are a LIVE band. This means no backing tracks or pre recorded parts. You will get a professional sound from professional musicians. This is a rare selling point in today’s crowded marketplace of covers bands who rely on backing tracks or false instrumentation. Our top industry tip for anyone looking to book a band is to ALWAYS get live recordings of the band before you make a decision. Do not rely on studio mimed show reels as that is not what you will get on the night. Q: How long does setup take? A: Setup varies depending on exact locations, provisos of power and physical space. Typically it takes between 45 minutes and an hour to fully set up and soundcheck the band.
Q: What are your space and power requirements? A: Minimum 2x double 13A socket outlets. We are a 5 piece band and so sensible space for a drum kit, full backline and PA is required, however we will always be as flexible as we can to suit site constraints.
Q: Do you take requests? A: Typically no. Prior first dance requests can be made if discussed and agreed, however we find that our sets are varied enough to suit all tastes.
