A vibrant high energy 9 piece swing vintage swing band - - Superb band presentation in binate 50's suits our 20's style Gatsby Suits or Peaky Blinders style - Excellent stage presence with well placed lights/backdrops and iridescant band stand lighting Various music genres include - 50's style swing/jive/rock n roll perfect fo Lindy, Jive, Balboa, shag, Shim Sham, Tranky Do - Great Gatsby 1920's style parties - Peaky Blinders parties

What to expect

a superb evenings entertainment in whatever style you prefer. We actively engage the audience and our vocalist moves out amongst the guests. Our vocalists are also very competent swing dancers and will provide dance lessons to get all the audience involved right from the off. We can also play your wedding song for you and special requests.

Additional info about Kal's Kats

We have featured in films including a major Hollywood film featuring Sir Daniel Day Lewis called Phantom Thread. We have also appeared on the filmset of Peaky Blinders at Charlie's Yard at Black Country Living museum. We have written and produced songs for the BBC under contract including an official World Cup football anthem and a D Day war anthem. We have appeared on BBC TV and radio as well as on ITV We have played at large festivals in the UK, Europe and Middle East and over 114 weddings to date. We have raised significant amounts for charity including Race for life Cancer charity

Q: How long does setup take? A: Approximately 30 mins
Q: What are your space and power requirements? A: normally 4m by 3m is fine and can be on stage or on the floor. Power requirement is just normal 13amp power socket
Q: Do you take requests? A: Yes we actively encourage requests to ensure your personal touch is added to your event. We would normally be in discussion with you to get the request arranged sooner in case we need to actually transcribe from a recording for you.

Amazing times and memories

IHi Kal - Really good to meet you and the rest of the band on Saturday and thank you for your kind words about the hotel and the event. What a fantastic evening, we have had many good comments back and the whole event was a great success. You guys were absolutely superb and I’d like to congratulate you on your professionalism throughout. The music was brilliant and the whole setup was first class. Would definitely be interested in discussing future events and will have to get some plans together for next year. Possibly a summer garden party in a marquee on the lawns would be something we’d be keen to look at. What might you suggest in terms of theme and music style? Probably be looking at a Saturday in June/July. Also for future reference what do you charge for the band for a New Year’s Eve performance? Would be great to get any photos or video from the event that you may have too that we could put on social media and other marketing for similar events for the future. just have to say a really big 'Thank You' to Kal & the rest of the Band Members for your playing in Chesterfield yesterday. I'm from the town originally but moved away over 30yrs ago, however I go 'home' as often as I can to see my Dad. Sadly I wasn't able to get to this years event but am commenting on my Dad's behalf. At 93yrs old the 40's were my dad's 'youth' & he has always held on to the memories & been my inspiration for my lifelong passion for the era. He took himself off to town yesterday & listened to you guys right through to your last number. I chatted with him last night & he was thrilled with his day out, loving the music & reminiscing to the dancing. So I will say Thank You All once again for making my dear old Dad a very Happy Man! you are wonderful musicians and very lovely people. My Best Wishes to you All.

Wow, wow, wow - simply fantastic.

They hit the switch and boom it just went off. The audience danced like crazy and were sweating like mad - the main chap Kal was in amongst the audience whooping then up showing them dance moves and singing some fab music - I wish I'd recorded this - they should be on TV!
