***We are now the house band at Rubys in Dalston from 10pm every Friday night so you can come down, have a cocktail (great cocktails!), check us out, say hello, have a chat e.t.c.***
But for a more sober view of the facts...
Love For Sale is London’s most booked jazz band with over 350 gigs in the last 3 and a half years. 95% of those gigs are re-bookings.
Why?
In the last year we've played...
Weddings. And funerals. Office parties. And Olympia. Basement bars in Dalston. And Christie's in St James. Michelin restaurants. And living rooms. English country gardens. And brewery floors. Five star hotels in Mayfair. And street markets in Tottenham. Cocktail bars. And The Barbican. Artists studios and the Royal College of Art. Bernie Grant's Art Centre. And The Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. Christs College, Cambridge and Canopy Market in Kings Cross.
And we've just appeared in a scene on Channel 4's TV show, Made in Chelsea (!) which we came out of rather well. We're also doing a fashion shoot for Net A Porter
We can play 24 hours, 7 days a week, 12 months a year. Instead of risking deps, we are a group of seven musicians who play bookings mainly as a quartet. We rehearse together and can cover for each other when it comes to holidays, illness e.t.c.
We really can do last minute. We've played a gig with only 3 hours notice (not ideal but we made it!)
And we love to play...that's what makes Love For Sale so different from 'function' bands. Reviews reference 'positive attitude', 'good vibes' even 'a lovely aura.' If you wouldn't want the band as guests at your event, do not book them!! We are a real band playing live somewhere in London every week (Check out our facebook page - Love For Sale London - for the latest dates).
We play Blue Note jazz – the cool 1960's jazz that even non-jazz fans like. Cool and sophisticated (not cheesy or difficult).
We’re instrumental – there is no vocalist craving attention. Guests can listen as much or as little as they like and go back to chatting, eating and drinking.
We 'play the room' – if the energy needs to go up or everyone prefers to chill, then our choice of tunes reflect that.
We’re grown ups. Reliable, responsible professionals who adapt to different situations and set ups. All that stuff that can make musicians hard work to deal with - PO numbers, invoicing, scheduling, logistics, PAT certificates, Public Liability Insurance, being there on time, every time - are all sorted. You can focus on the event itself.
We listen. We're available daytimes weekdays to discuss your event and share our experience to help you make it a success. And we have experience to share...
We have at least ten 10/10 reviews from last 12 months in each of the following categories; weddings corporate events, private parties and venues (pub, restaurants and hotels)
We're very happy to provide a list or for you to contact any previous
Our real measure of success is not what people say (talk is cheap!) but whether they ask us back.
And they do! 95% rebookings
