Mama G is a pantomime dame who goes all over the UK telling children and their families stories about being who you want and loving who you are. She reached the semi-finals on series 15 of Britain's Got Talent and has worked with Pride in London, Disney, Hay Festival, Gloworm, Edinburgh International Book Festival and theatres, libraries, museums and festivals around the UK. She has also presented her show internationally. Mama G regularly works with publishers to promote their books and is proud to be associated with Elmer the Patchwork Elephant.
"Everyone's favourite pantomime dame." (Metro)
"Mama G’s stories are sprinkled with tales of inclusivity and acceptance." (The Guardian)
She tells a mixture of her own original stories and those already published.
Her own stories include characters such as:
- Little Roar, the fashionista dinosaur.
- Fran and Vera, the feuding fairies.
- Eunice, a confused horse.
- Stan, a character trapped in a story he doesn't want to be in.
- Michael, a champion Flosser.
Already published books that she shares include:
- Julian is a Mermaid, by Jessica Love
- How to be a Lion, by Ed Vere
- Frockodile, by Jeanne Willis and Stephanie Laberis
Mama G's performances are fully interactive and incorportate BSL, puppetry and lots of participation. There is humour that can be enjoyed by both children and adults, in the style of panto.
Mama G also comes complete with her own original songs, including one performed with 90s popstar Lolly.
You can expect over 15 years of experience in pantomime and children's entertainment - with the performance pitched perfectly at the age of the audience (including adults).
The stories and the character are very inclusive and promote equality, compassion and understanding across race, gender and sexuality.
The character is funny and motherly, in the tradition of the pantomime dame - but has more of a drag aesthetic (she likes a sequin and is far from dowdy!)
The humour and content is clean and audience appropriate.
Q: How long does setup take?A: For an informal story time set up can be an hour (including getting into character.)
For the 'show' it is best to add a couple of hours to that time. Q: What are your space and power requirements?A: For the story time Mama G can work within whatever space is available. Contrary to a lot of storytellers she prefers to works standing, so will not require a seat. A 3amp plug socket is helpful, but not essential and she usually just asks for a waist height table in the space. Q: Do you take requests?A: Mama G can take requests for shout outs.

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!!
My group of 25 adults absolutely loved Mama G’s performance! One of them messaged me that afternoon and said “I have to say that the entertainment this Monday was probably one of the best days entertainment you have ever put on for us. Mama G was absolutely fantastic.” I can’t really top that other than with additional praise, I really enjoyed the stories, the songs, the ethos and the wonderful persona that is Mama G. Im sure soon to be a legend among Pantomime Dames!!! THANK YOU!!! Xxxx
