Beautiful harp music for your event from a talented professional of over 20 years experience

I'm an accomplished harpist with over 20 years' experience playing for weddings and functions throughout North West England and North Wales. I graduated with a Bachelor of Music Degree from Edinburgh University in 1984. Having then achieved a Performers’ Diploma on the harp and a Masters Degree at Bangor University specialising in Performance on the Harp, I have established a busy and successful career for over 20 years as a freelance harpist in North West England and North Wales. I offers a wide repertoire of music in many different styles ranging from Classical, Celtic, Modern and Bollywood, on both the large concert harp and smaller Celtic harp, tailored to create the perfect ambience for the particular special event. I will provide beautiful music for many special occasions such as weddings, Valentines’ Day, Mothers’ Day, anniversaries, birthday parties, christenings and funerals. I have also appeared on TV as a harpist in Coronation Street, Peaky Blinders and Poliakoff's Close to the Enemy, and was honoured recently to play at a ship naming ceremony in Liverpool, by Princess Anne. I have also recently been highly commended in the 'Best Wedding Ceremony Act' (North England) category at the prestigious Event Entertainment Awards 2019.

What to expect

Special notes for weddings: The Wedding Ceremony For a church service, or a civil marriage/partnership, music can be provided at the following points: prior to the Ceremony for the arrival of guests (about 10-15 minutes), for the entrance of the bride, the signing of the register and the exit of the couple. The Drinks Reception The harp can help provide a focal point and interest and a welcoming ambience during this rather busy point in the day's proceedings, while guests are chatting and photographs are being taken. When the weather is warm it is possible to take my harp outside if that is where the guests are, provided there is a shady, warm and dry spot on a hard surface available, and that there is no threat of rain. The Wedding Breakfast I usually start playing during the 'receiving line', as guests are being individually greeted by the bride and groom before entering the room. I then continue playing throughout the meal until coffee is served, taking breaks between courses. Additional: I provide my own amplification if it's needed. Breaks are taken roughly for 10 minutes every hour regardless of the event. Performances out of doors are at my discretion. On peak dates (Fri-Sun/ bank holidays June-Sept) a minimum booking of 2 hours applies.

My husband and I were absolutely over the moon with the extremely high quality of Oona Linnett’s harp playing.
