One of Scotland's best ceilidh bands, performing regularly for weddings, birthdays, graduations, corporate events and all other social occasions. Past Ceilidh Band Champions, the band are also regular guests at the Shetland Accordion and Fiddle Festival, Shetland Uphellya Festival, as well as making appearances at the Orkney Folk Festival, Galway Sessions, Mull Music Festival, Oban Music Festival, Jura Music Festival and Newcastleton Music Festival. The band have also travelled as far as Kuwait to play for the Kuwait Caledonian Society. The Band are extremely experienced, and have broadcast several times in recent years on BBC Radio Scotland's "Take The Floor" programme on a Saturday evening. Two studio albums have also been released by the band with one of them being voted runner up in the annual National Accordion and Fiddle Club awards in 2010. Tracks from both CD's have also been featured on programmes on several radio stations including BBC Radio Scotland. What to expect

The Pentlands Ceilidh Band are a three piece ceilidh band consisting of two accordions (one with midi bass for the bass and piano sound) and drums. We play for all the popular ceilidh dances including gay gordons, dashing white sergeant, st bernard's waltz, canadian barn dance and strip the willow, and also some perhaps lesser known dances such as the circassian circle and virginia reel. We call all the ceilidh dances, giving full instructions for all the steps when required. We do also provide a ceilidh/disco package. The ceilidh/disco works a treat at weddings as it gives the guests a great variety of music and also the disco gives the guests a well earned rest from some of the more hectic ceilidh dances! Our dj is also a dance caller which means he can call the dances from the floor as opposed to us calling them from the stage. It also means that he can call while the band can concentrate on playing which makes things a bit easier for us!

Q: How long does setup take? A: 30-45 minutes followed by a 10-15 minute sound check
Q: What are your space and power requirements? A: We need a minimum space of approximately 12x8 feet. This would accommodate the 3 piece band. A minimum of 15x8 feet would be required for the 3 piece band with disco.
Q: Do you take requests? A: You can also request any specific dance or songs that you would like played from the band or disco beforehand including that all important first dance for your wedding!
