Slinky, a professional, energetic and slick 4 piece rock and pop band from the North West of England.

Since 2003, the band has played over 1,000 performances from weddings, private parties, charity galas, award ceremonies and high profile corporate events. We are The Slinky Band and are based in the North West of England and have performed all over the UK, Ireland and Europe. We comprise of quality musicians with professional attitudes and have years of experience individually and performing together as a band. With our extensive repertoire we can accommodate for any age group and event type. This includes classic artists like The Beatles, Queen and The Rolling Stones through to Bruno Mars, Daft Punk and Pharrell Williams. As Slinky works specifically to the client’s needs they cater for any eventuality you may require for your event. If you want specific music types, set times, an early arrival, a late finish or a specific dress code Slinky can happily provide this. The band also offers a number of services to make your event, wedding or party ‘a touch more special’ which include: first dance option, acoustic set, iPod playlists and a free DJ service. Slinky provides the highest quality equipment for all its events. PA and lighting equipment is PAT tested and we hold full PL Insurance which will meet the criteria for all venue types.

What to expect

The Slinky band base service includes all you will require for your wedding, party or general function. The base service will minimise your initial financial outlay for your wedding or function. Band arrival from 6pm to be set up by 7.30pm. Play background music before, between and after our live sets up until close of play via the band iPad. Provide a first dance request specifically from the bands repertoire. Provide a first dance request from the iPad if available. Provide 2 x 60 minute, 3 x 40 minute or 2 x 45 minute sets of live party music, completing by midnight. Provide high quality PA & lighting.

FAQ

Q: How long does setup take? A: The maximum time required for us to set up is 1hr 30mins. This can be done quicker as long as we have easy access to the venue (i.e. ground floor room and vehicle access close to the venue). On average Slinky would require 1 hour to complete a good set up / sound check
Q: What are your space and power requirements? A: We usually require a performance area of 6×3 metres but we can accommodate a smaller space if required. We are accustomed to playing a variety of different venues so we will make use of what space is available. As use the latest LED lighting and the latest technology PA equipment our power consumption is very low. Even with this in mind we do prefer to run lights from one power source and PA equipment from another to reduce the risk of noise interference. We usually request 2 double 13 amp supplies as near to the performance area as possible. We draw approximately 16 amps with everything on and have only ever experienced any issues in events in marquees where the generator capacity has been too low.
Q: Do you take requests? A: Unfortunately we do not recommend ‘Client Picked Set lists’ as generally they have not worked at previous events. We usually ask the client for guidance on what type of music they like i.e. 60s, 70s, disco, indie etc or favourite bands / songs. Alternatively you can pick 20 – 40 songs and from that list we will select a number of songs and build the set around that. It also helps to inform us of any songs you do not wish to be played. Please note we don’t not guarantee we will play all your choices (we do like to DJ the set according to the age group and crowd reaction)
