5 piece band offering lively and authentic tribute to the 80s

Our non stop show is a celebration of the '80s playing the best of Wham, Madonna, The Bangles, Gary Numan, Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Erasure, The Pet Shop Boys, Go West, Soft Cell, Tears for Fears, Phil Collins, Cyndi Lauper, Kim Wilde, The Communards & many, many more . All the band members are long term friends and are professional Musicians, Music Teachers and ex -cruise ship entertainers who really know how to get a party started. Our aim is to fill the dance floor and give our audiences a lively, engaging, nostalgic and authentic journey back to the 80s. We have a huge PA if needed, lighting and provide a free Disco service around our sets.

What to expect

Having played at literally thousands of events, we understand the importance of careful planning in advance, so that arrival times, set up, show times, intervals and so on are stage managed to our clients exact requirements. We have excellent testimonials ranging from John Lewis Partnership, to The Royal Marines, Provincial Theatres, Festival Promoters and Wedding Couples...all of whom compliment not just our musicianship and delivery of an entertaining 80s show but also our 'off stage' organisation and ease of doing business.

Q: How long does setup take? A: From arrival to final sound check min 1 hour 15 mins to 1 hour 30 mins. For Festivals with Road crew, 30 mins changeover.
Q: What are your space and power requirements? A: Stage size approx 20 ft wide by 12ft deep. Normal domestic ring circuit with min 2 sockets.
Q: Do you take requests? A: Yes with plenty of notice.If we do not play a particular song we can include in the Disco period

Great Band!!

Smack the 80s are the ultimate time machine for travelling to arguably the greatest decade for music style and fashion. They use great arrangements and interpretation faithful to the original songs all stamped with the bands own skilled authenticity and spirit (they were around at the time I believe). Smack the 80s will never make you feel you have heard it all before, but instead remind you of the timelessness of a good vocal melody, a gripping enthused rhythm and that the synthesiser can still do things to you aurally in the 21st century you never would have thought possible.

We required a band that could create a party atmosphere in store for an important customer Christmas shopping event and chose Smack the 80’s I have to say we were not disappointed! Great performance!

Thanks to Smack The 80s for a great night last night for my wife Jayne’s surprise Birthday party at Thornbury Golf Centre. Amazing Band!

What a fantastic band and amazing experience. We hired Smack The 80s for our wedding and were blown away by the their showmanship, performance quality and their integrity to giving an original 80s sound!
