Sophie Simonds is a multi instrumentalist and band leader from West London. Whatever your requirement, we have a setup to suit you! The Band: Sophie Simonds: Band leader, Singer, Saxophone, Violin + Percussion Michael Butlin: Guitar + Percussion The duo have been performing together in this setup for nearly three years, with hundreds of gigs and events under our belts. Such great venues include: The Bedford, Balham, The Half Moon, Putney, Chelsea Arts Club, The Great Barn, Exeter and Wigmore Hall, Macclesfield -References for weddings available- We aim to always use the same musicians in our setup, but due to availability, we may use one or other of our substitute musicians, whom we have worked with many times before, but you will always have Sophie Simonds fronting the lineup! No matter your event, we have a lineup to suit you, so get in touch with your dream music experience and we will do our utmost to make it a reality! We have full public liability insurance.

What to expect

ACOUSTIC DUO - Ideal for background music at wedding receptions etc - The duo will ARRIVE prompt to set up, dependant on location but usually 90 MINS BEFORE FIRST SET. - The duo will provide surround sound via two 1000w PA speakers, performed and mixed live in house, and disco lighting - The duo will then SOUNDCHECK, usually leaving a minimum of 30 MINUTES BETWEEN SOUNDCHECK AND FIRST SET. - The duo will usually perform 3 x 30 mins or two x 45 mins sets, with a MINIMUM BREAK OF 20 MINS between sets. - CLIENTS CAN make use of our equipment to PLUG IN IPOD etc up to the time that the duo's final set ends. IF YOU CANNOT PROVIDE SOME FOOD FOR THE ACT, PLEASE INFORM US SO WE CAN MAKE OUR OWN ARRANGEMENTS!

Q: How long does setup take? A: Usually around 45 mins dependant on location, but we can try to accommodate your timescale as much as possible.
Q: What are your space and power requirements? A: If powered amplification in required, we require at least one mains power supply at the back of the stage, for which we have extension cables. Space is dependant on the type of act you require, but we prefer a stage depth of at least 2 metres with at least a meter between us and any dancing patrons.
Q: Do you take requests? A: Yes! we aim to make your special day as personal as possible, so any special requests are welcome. We strive to put all the requested material in our setlist, so the more notice you give us of any requests, (minimum 2 weeks) the more likely we are to be able to learn the material, if we dont know it already. We are always happy to learn new material for first dances etc, again minimum 2 weeks warning is preferable
