The Affections take great pride in ensuring their sound is the best they can be with all band members having heavily invested in their equipment and training. The band likes to have control over half of the setlist to give maximum flow to the performance while also incorporating the songs you would love for the band to play from their repertoire. The Affections are so good at what they do, they have even been dubbed ‘the best decision we made’ by The Wedding Fair’s organiser for her wedding! The Affections do their utmost to ensure their clients are beyond pleased, and being seasoned pros you can rest assured there is no challenge that will outfox them. The band knows all the best hits to keep your dance floor packed from start to finish, and will read the room and play to the crowd’s tastes. The Affections is fronted by Claire, who is a fantastic vocalist with killer tone reminiscent of the current soul powerhouses like Adele and Florence Welsch! Claire, who trained at the British Institute of Modern Music, frequently flexes her vocal cords with an in-demand choir regularly booked by the stars. Claire has also recorded at the famous Abbey Road Studios and has even featured on multiple Swedish house DJ records. Claire’s vocal expertise and incredibly sweet personality will undoubtedly win you and all of your guests around from the first song. Claire is supported by Chris on guitar, Ewan on bass, and Josh on drums and backing vocals. Collectively they have all studied at one of the most prestigious musical educational facilities in the UK: the British Institute of Modern Music; have performed with the likes of Emeli Sande, Ellie Goulding, Little Mix, Edge Michael (Peter Tosh’s nephew), Sarah Darling, Elle Exxe, Gary ‘Mudbone’ Cooper (of Parliament-Funkadelic), Nate James, Fish (of Marillion), Sasy Mankan, members of Jamiroquai, members of Hawkwind, Lost Girl. and Mollie King (of The Saturdays); Have supported Robbie Williams, Rudimental, Omar, and Ronan Keating; Have performed at Isle of White Festival, New Quay Beach Break Festival, The Full Ponty, GuilFest, Evolution Festival, SXSW Festival, V Festival, Download Festival, and Notting Hill Carnival; toured the UK, Europe, and USA; Have played at the renowned 100 Club, O2 Arena, O2 Islington, Sheperds Bush Empire, Bush Hall, Union Chapel, C2C Festival, Sage Gateshead, and Versuz (one of Europe’s largest nightclubs); and have appeared on Capital FM, Sunday Brunch, ITV News, the Evening Express, BBC Radio 2, and on Youtube videos with over 1m views. As you can see they are not only highly sought-after musicians but also extremely experienced and true professionals.

What to expect

Claire nails the vocals on every song from the band's repertoire, from artists such as Prince, Jamiroquai, and Beyonce. The band’s repertoire sits mainly in the pop, rock, and soul pocket, but also touches on indie, RnB, disco, lounge, jazz, musical, festive and country. The Affections welcomes you to tailor the setlist for your big day. For a standard 2x60mins or 3x40mins performance you can select up to 16 songs from the band’s 160+ song repertoire, and the band will endeavour to accommodate all of your requests, given a month’s notice. For short notice bookings, you are still very welcome to send over your suggestions, and as always, the band will do their utmost to accommodate as many requests as possible. The Affections is also very happy to learn an ‘off the menu’ song request for you, for example, a first dance or your favourite song. Upon booking, you will have a dedicated band manager as your point of contact to ensure the band is 100% on the same page as you well in advance of your event. Having this point of contact means you can count on excellent, fast, friendly, and warm communication at all times. It also means that come the big day every single crease will be ironed out and it will mean smooth sailing for both client and band alike.
