Anjaana Group formed in the late 1970s in Bradford, England. They have performed at hundreds of weddings, parties and events across the UK and India. Anjaana were the late Kuldeep Manak Ji's UK based backing band during the 1970s and 1980s. They performed together at weddings and festivals across the UK and Europe and also recorded two albums together. Their first studio collaboration was probably the first hit record in the Punjabi Folk/Bhangra industry from a band based in the north of England. The title track 'Nachna Pia', from the album with the same name featured the vocals of the late Kuldeep Manak Ji with backing vocals by Satpal Anjaana and Surinder Pal (accordion/vajala). Unknown to many, the album was recorded in the Little Germany area of Bradford. Anjaana are still going strong with Satpal as the main singer and with some new additions to the line-up, now offer live dhol, dholak, and harmonium.
