High-energy four-piece band, presenting a kaleidoscope of genres with everything from jazz swing to disco and funk via ska, soul and pop/rock.

Hi! We are a party/function band, comprising keyboard, drums, electric bass and saxophone, presenting a kaleidoscope of genres with the emphasis on energy and FUN. We present music from the jazz and swing age, right up to the present day, including soul, funk, ska and disco. We also reinterpret classic songs in different ways, much like 'Postmodern Jukebox' (e.g., 'Careless Whisper' in a Dixie arrangement), and modern pop songs in retro styles (e.g., Spandau Ballet's 'True' as jazz blues, or 'Uptown Funk' as jazz funk). The members include: Singers Diane Horan Hill & Phil Lee-Thomas - both stalwarts of the London cabaret circuit, both having sold out shows together at the Hippodrome Casino, Crazy Coqs (Live at Zedel) and the Other Palace, with their show, 'From Swing to Soul'. MD/pianist David George Harrington - has arranged for the likes of Shirley Bassey, Kylie Minogue and Justin Bieber. Drummer Alex White - is a music teacher and Music Director of Swingcopation Big Band (with singers Diane and Phil) Electric bass Gareth Creed - an experienced bassist who is at home in many different genres. Saxophone Olly Jenkins - Olly's other band - the Hair of the Dog - starred as the school band in the Netflix series 'Sex Education', and will be appearing in Series Two in the near future.

What to expect

Expect uptempo songs presented in unusual and exciting ways by a group of very experienced singers and musicians, across a wide range of genres. One fan said after a Crazy Coqs show, "It was like a private house party and we were ALL invited!"

Q: How long does setup take? A: 60mins max
Q: What are your space and power requirements? A: This is a high energy show and the singers would need space to move/dance, plus making space for the 4-piece band. Minimum requirements would be 4/5 metres width, and 2/3 metres deep.
Q: Do you take requests? A: We have a wide range of repertoire which we are continually adding to, and can provide lists of songs on request or in advance.
