The Staffin Island Ceilidh Band is one of Scotland's freshest additions to the ceilidh band scene, offering an upbeat and energetic twist on the traditional Scottish ceilidh. With years of ceilidh experience, we've played across Scotland and Ireland to delighted wedding parties, graduation parties, hotel guests, and ceilidh lovers of all kinds. Our expert caller will get everyone on their feet, and our lively mix of popular covers and traditional Scottish fiddle music is sure to make your special day or event memorable for years to come!

What to expect

We play a mixture of popular covers and traditional Scottish music, alternating between dances and both classic and contemporary covers to allow guests a break from the energetic ceilidh dancing! We always bring an experienced and dedicated caller who will ensure that everyone is up and dancing, and who will be able to walk even guests who are new to ceilidhs through the dances. Our normal set lasts between 3 and 4 hours, including a brief interval in the middle; many of our musicians are multi-instrumentalists, and we bring both more conventional instruments such as the guitar and fiddle as well as more unusual instruments such as the Guzheng to keep things sounding fresh. We offer real variety both in terms of the dances and covers we offer, and we bring our years of musical experience to bear in tailoring our performance to you. We aim to give your guests the best ceilidh of their lives!

Q: How long does setup take? A: Depending on the venue stage area and access limitations, we normally require 80 minutes for setup and sound check.
Q: What are your space and power requirements? A: The band needs space for 6 musicians and mains power (or generated equivalent). We normally need a performance area of at least 20-25 square metres, and for ceilidh dancing venues will need an appropriately-sized dance floor.
Q: Do you take requests? A: We do not normally take requests, but as an exclusive for BookEntertainment customers we will try to accomodate requests for a small surcharge.
