The Urban Party Project are a 7-piece Soul, Motown, Pop & R&B band from Plymouth, Devon. Their unique brand of entertainment fuses hard-hitting accents and vocal harmonies with some never heard before arrangements and Medleys! This band will keep you on your toes all night.

What to expect

Expect a high-energy, unforgettable experience! Our 7–9 piece band specializes in Soul, Motown, Pop, and R&B, with electrifying live performances that will keep your dance floor full all night. We blend powerhouse vocals, a tight rhythm section, and the smooth sounds of our saxophonist to bring every classic hit to life. Our unique arrangements and medleys ensure no two performances are the same, offering you a one-of-a-kind musical experience. Prepare for some "mouth-open" moments as your guests are blown away by our incredible musicianship and energy. We’ll keep everyone grooving from the lively drinks reception to an unforgettable evening. With professional lighting, a top-tier PA system, and a dedicated sound engineer controlling every detail, we guarantee flawless sound and a vibrant atmosphere throughout the event. Whether it’s an acoustic set for your ceremony, a live DJ session after the band, or the full-on dance party vibes, we’re here to make your celebration truly special.

FAQ

Q: How long does setup take? A: A comfortable set-up and sound check time is 2 hours, depending on the venue, its access and the event. Some events require more equipment, and as a result, the set-up time is extended. De-rig time is usually 1 hour, again depending on the venue. The band must be able to sound check before the start time to make sure the sound is perfect for our audience.
Q: What are your space and power requirements? A: We need a performance area which must be level and dry (we're thinking of marquees and outdoor gigs here!). It doesn't have to be a raised stage, but we do need an area of 4 metres deep by 5 metres wide to fit 8 people and our equipment and will also require a 2 metre by 1 metre space at the back of the room for our sound engineer and sound desk. For power we need a minimum of 4 13A (safe) sockets, and if you're using a generator for an outdoor event, please ensure that it is capable of delivering a steady 4KW without any problems, also that it is being operated/installed by a suitably qualified person. For larger events, give us a call and discuss the details - we are used to playing festivals, parties etc so have come across most issues already and helps visitors get the support they need in the most efficient way.
Q: Do you take requests? A: Due to the style of the UPP band, the complicated arrangements, medleys and specially programmed lighting show we have included within our performance, we are unable to take requests on the night. However if you have any specific songs you would like included, as long as they fit within the style of our set list we will do our best to include some of them into our set. This would need to be discussed at the booking stage
