Short Description
1920s and 30s style duo playing blues, jazz, swing and ragtime.
Act Introduction
1920s and 30s style duo with all PA and lighting. Perfect for something a bit different or vintage style events. Good for background sets with lots of well known old numbers that sink into the background. Also great as a featured act for watching with our different set designed to impart a vaudevillian theatre show (tap dance routines, comedy, audience participation). The band plays music as it was on street corners in the days of prohibition. Home made instruments (washboard, suitcase bass drum) mix with 1930s resonator guitars and kazoos to bring to life the early days of jazz and blues. We play over 150 gigs a year including weddings, parties and have worked with many big organisations like Waitrose, The National Railway Museum and KPMG. Both Martyn and Jack play in other bands and have between them played in many countries and with many top names in blues and jazz.
What to expect
We can play as background or as a featured act. As background we have a mix of 20s, 30s & 40s songs that make for a nice foot-tapping atmosphere. As a featured act we have a set that brings across an old style 'vaudeville show'. There are tap dancing routines, comedy, audience participation and numbers with visual parts.
