Originally from Ireland I spend most of my time between Manchester and Montanchez (spain). I play regularly in the The UK and in Europe. I play at bars, house parties, charity and corporate events, weddings, fiestas and festivals across the UK and Europe. Over the last few years I played at events and events in Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Germany, Spain and Ireland.
In addition to bars, festivals and music venues I have also played for community and corporate events, hospital rehabilitation units, care groups, community cafes, house parties, food and craft markets and weddings. I’m open to consider other options including multi event bookings, national and international tours etc.
You can expect a high quality performance that provides low key acoustic music for cafes and bars where the music is primarily for background. For parties, bars and other events myself sets normally build in intensity and tempo according to audience response.
You will hear a range of acoustic music featuring multiple guitar styles drawing on classic americana, blues and folk.
My shows provide a rich mixture of originals and covers of songs played on acoustic guitar, harmonica, dobro and weissenborn (Hawaiian acoustic lap steel). You can expect to hear songs songs from the Americana and Folk revival movements of the 1960's as well as classic blues from Howling Wolf, Canned Heat and Robert Johnson alongside artists such as Nina Simone, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Ry Cooder, Johnny Cash and Jimi Hendrix.
My solo acoustic sets combine original songs from my albums 'The Man From The Moon, One Day, Speaking Out and Wild Child along with my versions of classic blues, folk and Americana including songs by artists such as Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Nina Simone, Woody Guthrie, Ry Cooder, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, Jimi Hendrix and Robert Johnson. For 2 and 3 set shows I normally play acoustic guitar, Dobro, Weissenborn (Hawaiian Lap Steel) and Harmonica.
Q: How long does setup take?A: 20= 45 mins depending on the venue and if I supply the PA system. Q: What are your space and power requirements?A: I normally require access to at least two power sources for solo shows.
For solo shows I normally bring 3 or 4 Guitars for a full 2-3 hour performance. usually this means a performance space of about 2m square. Q: Do you take requests?A: I am happy to learn and play songs by advance request, (assuming they are similar in style to my normal repertoire) with a minimum of two weeks notice, prior to the event.
I don't play requests on the night unless they are already in my repertoire.
